Welcome to my blog!

Hello! I am so excited to welcome you to my very first and new blog. :) Since I am new here at blogging, I hope to get used to and strengthen my writing skills...as nerdy as that sounds... but to introduce myself, my name is McKayla and I am currently a freshman in college...yikes. But don't worry, I don't find it that scary :) I am also a student athlete at my college!

Woohoo! So you may come across many posts about athletics, how to handle both schooling and sports, and other things aside from what this blog is really about...which may surprise you... drum roll please! The main focus of this new blog is actually about baking and cooking. *gasp* Another interesting fact about me is that I love to cook. Ever since I was little I would always help my mom (an amazing baker) make dinner or help her make her next famous dessert dish. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would answer with a chef! I even made my own cookbook! HA. Once I hit high school, cooking was still a hobby for me but I kinda realized I might not make a career out of it. I focused more on sports (cross country/track and volleyball) and didn't spend a lot of time baking or cooking. It wasn't until my junior year of high school when I started dating my current boyfriend/best friend Cameron!

And of course, with a hungry growing boy comes the need for delicious food. So I was to the rescue! Me cooking came back into the picture and it felt like every weekend I would be cooking a new meal just to try and of course if he approved. And of course every holiday season I would be cooking things for my family or for his. Speaking of that, I am so excited to most family recipes I grew up with and of course Christmas desserts. So now fast forward to now and being in college, in a dorm, with no kitchen, is pretty sad. I try to balance going home and staying up on campus, but when I go home I. have. to. bake. But I hope you find my reciepes I share just as delicious as I think they are and I hope you enjoy reading about my crazy life which is essentially a creative mess. :)
